The first assembly removed is the twin pump. The intakes are no longer connected, but the outlet pipes are still adjacent to where they originally fed to. One is the vaporizer, while the other is to a port above one of the exhaust valves. The plungers on the pumps have almost completely rusted, but that's easily fixed.

With that out of the way, the first of the cam roller rockers is removed along with it's mounting ring from the front of the governor gear shroud. A cover/retaining plate is next, removed from the front of the sideshaft. This frees the first cam and a puller is used to remove it from the sideshaft. Contrary to all expectations, the mating faces of metal parts are mostly rust-free. There is a small amount of water ingress, but still a significant amount of oil and grease.

Next is the secondary rocker assembly - this mechanism is part of the hit and miss governor and actuates the intake valve on the hotbox.

With the front of the sideshaft now clear, the main governor gear is now able to be pulled off the sideshaft. Water had entered the shroud, but had only say at the bottom and there was little corosion of the gear teeth.

A start was made on the governor itself, but due to the amount of surface rust and the delicacy of the components, a liberal amount of WD-40 was applied and left to work its way in.
